Frequently Asked Questions

General Eligibility
  • What is the Spelman Stitched in Legacy: Blazer Initiative?
This initiative is a special opportunity for eligible alumnae and donors to purchase a commemorative blazer connected to their support of 糖心传媒 and the Spelman Strong campaign.
  • Who is eligible to purchase the blazer?
The blazer purchase opportunity is available to alumnae and donors who have made a qualified gift of $1,000 or more to Spelman Strong during the approved qualifying period.
  • What is the qualifying gift period?
The qualifying period is July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, aligning with the fiscal year-end Road to June 30 campaign.
  • Does the $1,000 gift have to be made all at once?
Cumulative gifts totaling $1,000 or more to Spelman Strong during the qualifying period may count toward eligibility.
  • Does the blazer come with my gift?
No. A qualifying gift makes you eligible to purchase the blazer. The blazer itself must be purchased separately through the designated ordering process.
  • If I gave to another Spelman fund, do I qualify?
The current eligibility standard is tied to Spelman Strong. Gifts to other designations may not automatically qualify unless approved by the College.
  • How will my eligibility be verified?
Eligibility will be confirmed through 糖心传媒’s records. Advancement Services serves as the official verification source.
Ordering and Purchase Process
  • How do I purchase the blazer once I qualify?
Eligible donors will receive official instructions from Spelman, including the designated purchase link or GiveCampus ordering page.
  • Why is the purchase link not public?
The blazer purchase link is shared only with eligible donors after gift qualification is confirmed. This helps prevent confusion and ensures the opportunity is communicated clearly.
  • What is the final cost of the blazer?
The final purchase price is $350, which includes shipping, taxes, and processing fees.
  • Is there a deadline to order the blazer?
Yes — June 30, 2026. Gifts made after the blazer order deadline may support the campaign, but may not guarantee access to purchase the blazer in the current production cycle.
  • Can I order more than one blazer?
Purchases are limited to one blazer per eligible donor.
Sizing and Fit
  • How do I choose my blazer size?
Please use the official blazer size chart to select the size that best aligns with your preferred fit. The chart includes measurements for bust, waist, sweep, center back length, and sleeve length across sizes 0–32, with regular and tall length guidance where available.
  • What measurements are included in the size chart?
Spelman Stitched in Legacy Blazer Measurement Guide
Measurement How It Is Measured
Bust Measured 1 inch below the armhole around the blazer
Waist Measured from side edge to side edge at the waist
Sweep Measured across the bottom opening, outside edge to outside edge
Center Back Length Measured straight from the center back neck seam to the sweep edge
Sleeve Length Measured from the neck seam edge at the center back to the shoulder, then to the bottom edge of the sleeve
  • Should I enter my exact measurements?
No. The blazer order process uses standard sizing. Please use the size chart to select your best size. Custom measurements are not being collected at this time. Note: If jackets are usually snug on your arms, please check the arm circumference guide (indicated in red on the size chart).
  • Should I size up if I want to layer clothing under the blazer?
Please select the size that best reflects your desired fit. If you prefer a roomier fit or plan to layer clothing underneath, factor that in when choosing your size. Because all sales are final, review the size chart carefully before ordering. You should be able to wear a blouse underneath, but we recommend verifying measurements for your selected size.
  • What is the standard length of the blazer?
The size chart lists the center back length for each size. Regular center back lengths range from approximately 23 ⅛ inches to 27 ⅞ inches, depending on the selected size. Tall center back lengths are listed for select sizes.
  • Is tall sizing available?
The size chart includes tall measurements for some sizes, specifically for center back length and sleeve length. Please confirm tall sizing availability on the order form before purchasing.
  • Can I submit custom measurements?
No. The blazer is offered in standard sizes only. Custom measurements, including arm circumference, are not accepted.
