Eligible students will receive an email directly from Financial Aid with information about their summer award package. Summer aid processing begins in mid-May. The earlier students register for summer courses and submit the , the sooner they will be notified.

If a student’s enrollment changes after their summer financial aid is initially awarded, Financial Aid will re-calculate the award as necessary. Aid is based directly on course enrollment so any changes to summer registration can impact a student’s eligibility. Award packages can be found in Bannerweb.

Follow the steps below:

1. Log into with your OneSpelman password
2. Click on Banner Icon (Under Apps)
3. Click Student under Home (left column)
4. Click Banner Student Services
5. Click Financial Aid
6. Click Award Year Drop Down Arrow and select 2526 Aid Year
7. Click Award Offer Tab

Summer financial aid will be disbursed based on the student’s actual enrollment. Aid will show as Anticipated awards on the student’s account until the term disbursement date.

• Disbursement will begin after drop/add – JUNE 2, 2026
• Any refund will be issued by Student Accounts (if fees are paid after aid is disbursed)

Students wishing to utilize financial aid while attending a host institution must submit a . This form is necessary to ensure that financial aid can certify eligibility and be applied correctly to the courses taken at the host institution.

Procedures for Spelman students attending another Title IV eligible U.S. institution as a transient:

• Students must provide our office with a Transient Approval Form from the Dean of Student’s Office.
• The host institution must complete the located in etrieve.
• Students should provide proof of registration and payment of all fees at the host institution.
• If you are attending Spelman and/or another institution, your credit hours will be added together to determine your HOPE/Zell Miller eligibility. Even though Spelman caps your enrollment at 8 credit hours, you may be registered for more credit hours at your consortium institution provided you have received the appropriate permission.
• All students who enter into a consortium agreement with ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ as the home school will be required to provide proof of grades from the host school two weeks before the end of the term, AUGUST 1ST. Financial Aid for upcoming semesters will not be disbursed until the proof of grades has been provided. The deadline to submit a consortium agreement request is two weeks prior to the end of the term for which the student is requesting the consortium.

Students planning to participate in Study Abroad programs must submit an Abroad Program Cost Outline along with an estimated Cost of Attendance. This documentation is required to assess eligibility for the aforementioned financial aid options. The outline should detail the program structure, duration, and associated costs to facilitate the financial aid process.

• Students participating in study abroad programs during the summer must submit the following to the financial aid office:
  
  1. A detailed program outline, including course descriptions and program dates.
  2. An estimated cost of attendance (COA) for the study abroad program, including tuition, fees, travel, and living expenses.
  
  
• The financial aid office will review the submitted information to determine eligibility for available aid options.
• If you are attending Spelman and/or another institution, your credit hours will be added together to determine your HOPE/Zell Miller eligibility. Even though Spelman caps your enrollment at 8 credit hours, you may be registered for more credit hours at your consortium institution provided you have received permission from the Dean’s Office.
