Maya Moore, C'2027 is a sophomore biochemistry major on the pre-medical track. An aspiring Ob-Gyn, she has a passion for maternal health, social justice and research. This is evident through her previous training as a birth doula through DONA International, completion of research on the topic of "Gestational Diabetes Mellitus and Periconception HbA1c in Non-Hispanic Black Women: Is One Associated With the Other in Pregnancy?” during her first summer with the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Pathway Program, certification as a Spanish medical interpreter, and acceptance into the LAMIS Women’s Health Leadership Institute with pending Perinatal Patient Navigator certification.
