The beauty industry, driven by innovations in chemical sciences, plays a crucial role in shaping human aesthetics and promoting mental well-being. This course explores the ways science influences concepts of beauty and wellness within European ethnic communities.
Students will examine the cultural and social significance of scientific knowledge in this context, with a particular focus on natural ingredients and the production of cosmetic products in European markets. Through this course, students will gain a deeper understanding of how the science of beauty intersects with diverse cultural values and practices.
The course counts as a general (non-major) or cosmetic science elective. There are no prerequisites. Students graduating in May 2025 and entering first-year students cannot apply.
